We met our goal of getting settled in our home before Christmas came. In fact we were settled enough to decorate the house.
Mikayla helps Mommy and Daddy decorate our first real Christmas tree!
Mikayla even helped Daddy put up lights and the snowman outside the house.
Once we were decorated, we welcomed our first visitors for an early Christmas celebration. It was great to see Grammy and Gramps, and Mikayla had so much fun playing with them both.
What perfect reindeer!
Here comes one of Mikayla's favorite gifts....
A baby for everyone to hold, including Grammy, Gramps, Daddy, and Mommy!
The baby even came with her own carriage.
This baby also takes a bath! She spends a considerable amount of time face down in the water, but eh, at least Mikayla is entertained.
The weather was nice enough that Mikayla got to show Grammy the park, and most importantly THE SLIDE! (yes Baby slides)
Grammy and Gramps show off new hairdos, courtesy of Mikayla!
We were also treated to a nice dinner out with Grammy and Gramps (Baby ate the most)!
After Grammy and Gramps had spoiled all of us rotten, they left to visit their other grand-baby, and we geared up for the official Christmas day celebration (I know, it seems like that's what we just did!).
The stockings were hung by the chimney (or gas fireplace if you'd rather) with care....
The Grinch made an appearance, but he was no match for Mikaya!
This year Mikayla is fully into unwrapping gifts and understands that behind the pretty paper is a something special for her! We had to do a considerable amount of quickly moving new toys to the table to keep her focused on unwrapping the next gift!
After we unwrapped all the gifts, our chef in residence cooked a delicious Christmas breakfast.
Here's a little video of Mikayla playing with a favorite toy and share some of the new sounds in our house that we hear over and over and over and over.....
Now it may seem that Mikayla had the best Christmas hands down, but I disagree, below is Mommy's present...

While I can't promise you'll see me in London next summer, I think I can win a few smaller races with this beauty!
Lucky for me Hubby rescued Mikayla so this did turn out to be a long post. We had a wonderful Christmas and thank all the family who helped make it a special time. We hope you had a wonderful Christmas as well.
